Yes, I am aware that it’s out. It adds a character dictionary, sound dictionary, changes some minor interface stuff (uuuugggghhhh), and adds a New Game+. I’ll get around to version checking the previous… er… version and incorporating the changes into the patch (along with the finished script files for up to stage 42, which is about 50% of the script) as soon as premier week is over, so expect something around next weekend. A quick glance shows that no new stages were added and only the Mech-Hisui Mazinger attack was undummied. No Sugoi Beam for you, sorry.
Aaaaaaaaand back to the premiers. Just Kemeko left for today… and Tales of the Abyss 2… Thank Zeus. Since I’m expecting a new OP for ZKC, I think I’m going to punt on covering the stream this week. You’ll survive… somehow. I may not get to that until tomorrow then. *shrug*
Aquastyle released their latest/greatest SRW tribute DVD featuring Aya, Flandre, Remilia, and Suika. No Love Love Yuyuko attack in this one, sadly. I went ahead and cut out all of the ‘story’ junk (ha… story) from the start and end so all that’s left in that is various Touhou themed SRW attacks. If you’re interested in the first one, you can watch it here.
Well, Sion’s ultimate vampire form is certainly no Onslaught or G.Akiha, but I guess it’s relatively menacing. Rrarr rrar, I’m huuuuuuge and eeeeeeevil!
Yeah, I’m really looking forward to going through and version checking all the files for a second time. They are adding a character/enemy dictionary, at least one new attack (M-Hisui’s Jet), though Aoko will probably also be getting a second attack and from looking at the dummied out data from the game files, probably a stage 52 as well. Who knows though. This comes out in the middle of the Fall season premiers… so… I may put it off a week or so until the… 28 or so shows that start in the first week of October are dealt with. Oh, and I’m edging closer and closer to a release of at least the first half of the script for Act 4. Maybe Monday. The main issue is that the first two stages of Act 4 are almost a full third of the entire script… so… I easily get distracted and just wander off to work on the shorter later stages.
Sega uploaded 5 more Actress Again videos. Man… is Ries slow as hell. Those players are sooooooooo bad too. Makes it hard to really tell much of anything. Looks like she’s got some high clash moves though, or at least I hope that’s what that silly little shield bash is for. More after the cut.
Wow. Roa’s like… a kicky Kouma… with Ciel’s Ex-Hiero. And what’s with W.Len’s weird disappearing act/teleport? And she can duck now! Clearly broken!
Edit: Sega keeps adding more match vids. Apparently I logged on while they were in the middle of updating. The rest are after the cut. I’ll keep adding them as they upload them.
Aaaaaaaaaaaand, back to working on BMW 4 for me. Well, BBQs for the holiday weekend, but then back to working on it. There is a patch on the forum that incorporates the act 4 changes into the pre-existing translated parts, translates most relevant combat information, and updates the graphical files, but it’s still sort of an advanced beta since there are a few things that I’ve been totally unable to track down how or when they’re used. They could just be dummied out and this is the final version, but who knows. Werk is still releasing new bugfix patches about one every ten days, so… god only knows really.
Yes, I’m still working my way through C74 stuff. Slowly but surely. I’m just about finished though. Gleam of Force is quite the distraction. I’ve actually become quite attached to super-genius Futaba now that I’m comfortable with the engine. She has some absolutely wacky combos. I especially like abusing her command throw 3B j.2B j.22B into whatever silly juggle you want off the wall-throw.
Aaaaaaaaaaaanyway, Sora. I’m not a big Acceleration of Suguri fan, and honestly, this is pretty much just more of the same. Loose controls, especially with the relatively out of control dashing and the long delay when you attack, along with the propensity to miss any and all moving targets can make things pretty frustrating. The solution is usually to just spam missiles or lasers while cancelling the recovery time with the dash, but meh. I just think that Diadra Empty is still a much more solid free range shmup with a lot more variety and general creativity. It also doesn’t help that you can basically fly off the edge of the screen. Not far off the edge, but enough so that if you try to hug the edge, you’ll move yourself out of visibility. That’s such a no-no for a game that wants occasional pixel perfect precision. Of course, it was only a one stage demo, but it still didn’t really make me overly excited for the full version.
Edit: Ugh. My recording looks awful after youTube had its way with it. Replaced with Sibladeko’s.
