MBS aired a double header to take back the primary broadcast, putting their Friday broadcasts back in the lead. I’d say I need to pay more attention to this stuff, but it wasn’t on the schedule that I use as of 5 days ago, so whatever. Back to after work coverage instead of weekend morning.

Impressions:

Remember how last week was the entirely unneeded catch-up-for-a-slight-costume-change-with-Hibiki’s-dad-tacked-on thing? Well, this was the exact goddamned same, except with the last two who haven’t gotten their darkness costumes, the fire one getting an unceremonious death and pointless death, and Hibiki’s dad crap expanded about 2 minutes and moved to the front. It hasn’t gotten any more relevant. She might as well be upset about someone having taken the last piece of pie for as much relevance as it has to anything at all, not that it stops the entire goddamned cast from trying to have a martyr-off over it.

Something that would continue into the other two’s crap too. “I care about you!” “No, I care about you!” “I care about everyone!” “No, I care about everyone!” This is the entire character ‘conflict’ of the episode, with the moral lesson literally screamed out about how two people working together is stronger than one. Christ. At least, in a true rarity for this season, at the end, they finally dumped the Noise and had a fight between characters. Again though, right before offing one with nothing at stake and to accomplish nothing. What a victory.
