The epic battle pitting Falis against Victorian Fashion’s mightiest warrior… the girdle.

For an OVA, the animation quality still remains deceptively low. It’d be decent, though not remarkable for a TV series, but servicable isn’t about the best compliment I can give it. Regardless, it remains quite a bit of fun, albeit almost all of it relatively predictable. It’s such a vapid series that it’s hard to get mad at the lack of a plot or the relatively flat characters. Falis is just such an aesthetically attractive character though, that it’s easy to just sit back, turn your brain off, and just simply enjoy yourself.

This episode is mostly about showing that Falis has some kind of dark past that makes her lose control. It begins where the last episode ended, but the lolis start spewing rockets and they make their escape within a minute or two. Alita is left to mourn over the body of her dead stand-in.

The rest of the first half is basically just the Chamberlain and Alita showing Falis about the life of a princess as well as cramming her into a girdle. There’s also some bathtime fun as well as Falis waking up nude and giving everybody but us a full view at what a princess keeps under her gown.

The second half starts with a parade, which the doctor and his robot lolis release a giant golem-beast on. Falis fights it for a bit and is winning before a loli shoots it with an injection of some sort and it goes to the next power level or bankai or whatever it is that generic giant golem-monsters do. It then manages to catch Falis and slam her through a wall and she snaps. She hamstrings it, and then while it’s down, starts slicing it up. Skullboy has meanwhile chased off the observing doc and his lolis.

Falis continues slicing up the giant thing until a child runs out to grab its dog. Falis senses the kid and jumps to attack, stopping only when Alita steps in front of her, spraying blood onto Alita’s face with the momentum of her sword. Falis snaps back to reality, the two hug, everybody is all happy about how their princess is also a fighter now.
