No, I haven’t played it yet. Yes, I have a migraine at the moment so will not get around to it (or ZKC) until tomorrow. Losing an hour of sleep to DST probably won’t help my brain either. The mysterious UFOs in the lower right corner are the new scoring gimmick. You collect them, and spawn a UFO (type/what it does depends on colors collected), then they spawn a big UFO in the middle of the screen. When its life is reduced to zero, it explodes like a small bomb with a score multiplier attached to all the bullets it cancels. It also appears to be significantly less difficult than the last two iterations, at least on Normal. It’s always the Stage 4 boss that’s nasty as all get out though.
Demo due out March 8th. Full version in the summer. And lookit the return to separate power and bombs as well as a playable Sanae. God only knows what the UFO slots in the lower left are. Maybe it won’t be as painfully difficult as the last couple. Although after NUCLEAR CROW IN HELL, an alien/pirate invasion seems almost mundane.
Well, I’m tremendously disappointed that the triple Nanoha/Hayate/Fate tech is just Hayate’s desperation Super, but eh… what can you do? I’ve only had a chance to barely muss around a little bit, but I’m heading out for dinner shortly, so I probably won’t get a chance to do much of anything with this for the rest of the night. They’re all pretty predictable though. Hayate is slow as snot with wide area attacks and mainly supported by her freezing/horribly animated stunning shots.
Yeah yeah, I’ve been slacking lately on doujin stuff. Blame Vesperia and Last Remnant. I’m sure the title is a reference to some Japanese story or literature that I’m just not getting, but whatever. This one looks like a very basic SRPG, borrowing some things from the N-1 series (chain attacks and such). The graphics could definitely use some polishing, and the zooming in and out was making me a bit seasick after only the brief promo, but hopefully it’ll look a little more polished by the time they put it out… or at the very least… add depth. At least they seem determined to cram the entire current era cast in there.
Brought to my attention via Doujinsuki.
Not too bad, though Vita and Hayate already look pretty similar to Ruru and Noyel respectively. Nanoha’s Striker form looks like a slower version of her with bigger… beam cannons, if you catch my drift. New maps and modes too, though I don’t think target shooting will hold my interest that long. The city scape could be an interesting map to play on though, assuming the hit detection/camera movement for the buildings doesn’t drive you insane.
Fly-Systems has announced an upcoming expansion for Magical Battle Arena adding in Vita, Hayate, and StrikerS era Nanoha, among I assume a few others.
Fortune Summoners is a terribly boring game. I played it for the better part of an hour and was still fighting slimes and my party was more concerned with falling off ledges than helping me club the millionith slime to death.
AQLoop is releasing MELancholy of DYnast, the TWilight refrAIN OST for next Comiket.
Werk has announced that they’ll be releasing a ‘minor’ expansion for Battle Moon Wars Act 4 that’ll add in Saber Lily, a younger version of Haruna, and, god willing, will fix some of the more egregious crashing issues.
They’re also releasing an OST in a couple months, which is only notable because the cover is… wow. Kohaku especially looks smoking.
Speaking of BMW, translation of Act 4 is about 2/3rds finished and through the first major arc (Hollow Ataraxia: stages 37-46), so only 6 stages and the Dictionaries to go. It’s still rough in places, and I’ve been waiting for Werk to finish the numerous NUMEROUS bugs that I cannot before I bug someone to hack the exe for the remaining stuff. Download it here if you want.
Direct questions and/or typo reports here.
Iosys’ latest collection of Touhou remixes… and the title should give you a bit of a clue as to what it’s centered on. Poor poor Cirno. Oh well, ⑨ probably deserves more or less whatever comes her way. This one is probably my favorite Iosys promo in awhile though.
He’s up to 326 at the time of this posting, which comes to around 35 hours worth of play, and has been uploading them for the past few days… and at three or four matches per clip… there’s quite a few. Thankfully, almost all of the ones I’ve seen have been pretty good players too. Granted… my sample size so far is about three, but I’m just thrilled that Len’s aerial movement no longer stops on her air 236 ice shard. The delicious crossup potential already makes me salivate. Not as good as Akiha’s still, but I’ll take whatever mixups I can get. Otherwise, too much else to really discuss here and especially since I’m sure there’ll be at least one update ala ver.B before it comes in a release format that I can consume, I’ll leave all the crazy analysis to the others. NRVNQSR EX-MOSQUITO IS IMBA!!@ElevenSHIFT-ONE etc etc
If you’re interested in the story mode stuff, Sibladeko’s been uploading random clips of that as well. It certainly appears to have even less of a story than Act Cadenza has, but they’re forgiven for all the weird animation they did just for story mode. The Necos especially have some weird stuff. etc etc
