I’ll Have Something More Substantial To Post Next Week

…Maybe.

I got absolutely nothing done over the weekend, and spent most of my free time yesterday fixing up rewriting from scratch some scripting I’ve done to account for the spectacularly godawful (Japanese) editing on my current super secret project which is causing me no end of grief. As if the writing wasn’t already bad enough. I’m continually shocked and left aghast at the poor business practices of these companies, even moreso after having gotten an actual glimpse into how they with Seinarukana and LWR. Then when I finally got around to trying to translate in the evening, I ran headlong into about twenty straight lines discussing honorifics. I… had to stop for the evening.

So here’s a collection of Softhouse Chara self-produced parody videos of their game OPs, which is just a weird thing that they did for about five years in the mid-00s, kind of like UFOTable’s experimentation with claymation before they had to give it up along with their soul. I lament that they seem to have gone away, since SHC had a gift for it. I personally quite enjoy the Ouzoku and Dancing Crazies ones. They sometimes show a surprising knack for visual humor and parody for a visual novel company.

Next week, I’ll honestly try to do another one of my patented “I played this for an hour” game reviews that everyone adores so much they totally ignore them in order to fill the Sunday to Wednesday void of this season. With luck, it will be something horrifyingly terrible. Or maybe another spew of bile about RPGs that have recently slighted me.

    Review a game ‘you’ve completed’ that you have an opinion on to share. Don’t worry about a preview or a game you played for 17 1/2 minutes, just something you played fully and give it that spin that only you can do. People will comment on what they can relate to. hinano on braedmasterlee is a good example.

      But those usually take even longer because I actually know what parts I want to grab that are good and I’ve long since uninstalled them and purged all my saaaaaaves.

      At some point in the last 5 years, I’ve developed a severe allergy to anything that doesn’t have actual game segments at at least a semi-decent pace to break things up. That includes the tedious cutscene slogs that are every single Idea Factory/Compile Heart RPG. I was already not a great fan of pure VNs, but I’m pretty sure translating a couple hours a day, dealing with nothing but text, has exacerbated that.
