Taboo Tattoo #10 — Tentacle Porn

September 5th, 2016

Beats lard beach.

Impressions:

Apparently to continue the question from last week, a magic cube swallowing him doesn't mean that the flashback's over. Although hell if I know why it wasn't. They just showed about a minute of him grabbing onto a ship and all the antagonists going "Shucks, he got away," before it was time to have an astral pow-wow. And then we cut away to the dynamic duo apparently living in the mountains with random dudes who watch tentacle pornography in the living room. Apparently this is how you train to become Batman, which seems like is something that should have come much sooner so Izzy or whoever can bring him back from the edge. Then again, given the tentacle porn and the bizarre Comiket proposal in the middle of things, it's obvious things continue to not be particularly well thought out. I'm seriously not even sure if this guy is new or he's been around before.

It was unfortunately clear for the fight towards the end that the animation budget was having some issues. Lots of random stills, shots of the ground, etc. It was a mixed bag on the expository front too. It did a decent job with the new antagonist who can make things bigger or smaller by showing her doing that in a bunch of different ways instead of just talking about it… and pokes needles into her crotch. But then Random Recurring Grunt got his very own ranting monologue over Izzie and brainwashed-Lisa fighting before the ED kicked in and we moved to see what's going on with… the command van. How many times are they going to have that guy job anyway? So we had weak starts to two fights while Seigi is apparently off eating a fudgsicle somewhere. Not going to go down as one of this show's better action bits for sure.

For once, the Princess’ comedy scene actually gave me a chuckle. There was just something funny about her sending a video of her casually chilling on the beach, while they’re in the middle of nowhere training super hard.

it was hilarious to see how hard boiled segi was acting only for him to soon go back to being a whiny boy we saw in ep 1
