Re:Zero #04 — Housework Montage

Maybe next week, they'll remember to include a plot to go along with these 'wacky' new characters.

Impressions:

Well, this sure does make Macross's earlier idol crap seem positively inspired. Nearly twenty two minutes straight of exposition and gimmicky character after gimmicky character introduced, broken up only by the occasional idiotic montage. Hey, guys. There's something happened, I don't know, elsewhere? And there might be some intrigue about… something, I guess? That's not really important to us though, because look at these crizazy twin maids and how silly they are, the crizazy little girl, and here's a lunatic dressed like a clown. Not that they did anything, they just exist. And sometimes, they do housework. And calisthenics. What an engaging fantasy adventure.

And where is all this housework and watching girls glow leading to? He dies in his sleep in the last twenty seconds and goes back to a new reset point. Although given how long and how many deaths it took him to understand the first go-round, there's at least a 50% chance that we're still 10 minutes away from him realizing that and chalking it up to the mysterious workings of Space Goat. Christ. It's a stretch to even say he did jack squat in that fight in the first place that deserves any kind of reward, let alone the immediate and unconditional, undying love of another braindead mouthbreathing imbecile, although perhaps I've just answered my own question.
