Is there anything he can't screw up?
Impressions:
The truly astonishing thing is that it takes ANOTHER random death before he figures out what's going on, so anybody who thought that he'd have totally figured it out after the two resets is in for disappointment. Luckily, that happens almost right away because he is godawful at the whole "living" thing. He spends the rest of this episode with his newfound knowledge staring at things in terror because he knows previous events from other timelines, and screwing up because the only way he knows to use that knowledge is to blurt things out and be shocked when people treat that as suspicious. He is truly godawful at absolutely everything that he does.
It seems to think that the butterfly effect makes for some kind of compelling mystery element, but after effectively three episodes of this, it needs to be doing an assload more than that. I guess at least it animated the fight between him and the thief girl. Why that and not the fights in the first extended episode, who can say? If stills were good enough for the climactic moments, why did the meaningless filler bit get significantly more effort? Maybe it's because they had a few extra pennies in the budget from getting to use flashbacks to remind us of all the things we've forgotten in the whole week since the last episode, or perhaps all the identical close-ups of his face.
It continues to move glacially, centered on a protagonist that's thicker than a brick wall who I want to see die over and over again, not root for his eventual victory, and after an hour, still hasn't established any kind of direction for the show besides "dying is probably bad." I continue to be bored. I've given this an hour. I'll glance at it next week, but unless it takes a drastic tick upward, I think I've reached the limit of my boredom with this show.
