Disk Wars Avengers #01 — Vaudeville Time

April 2nd, 2014

Someone in music clearly was not trying.

Impressions:

My first thought was “Wow, they put some effort into this. Marvel must have scrounged up some extra money after the entire Madhouse year long fiasco.” That misconception didn’t last very long though as the animation stopped after the 15 second pre-OP scene. And then the piano kicked in for vaudeville hour. It took the entire rest of the episode for something to happen and by ‘happen’, I mean for any antagonists to show up at all, because actually fighting them is the cliffhanger for next week. Can’t be rushing too fast after all! Although it bears mentioning that the preview for next week doesn’t show a single piece of action at all either.

It kind of reminds me of one of those bad western cartoons, especially from the 80s with aliens or dinosaurs (or alien dinosaurs), where there’s a team of superheroes and then the plucky two to four teenagers who find them out and become their mascots and/or teach them valuable lessons, only this episode didn’t get as far as the mascots or valuable lessons. There was an entire pack of other teens wandering around that had will be important stamped on their foreheads, but they didn’t actually do anything except squeal over how great Iron Man and Captain America are, which pretty much sums up what the show was all about. No surprises here, just an ad for the Avengers and latest cheap plastic toys based on them. The only thing that stands out is that it moves even slower than most toy ad shows.

But at least it wasn’t the full on, non stop, chin dribbling blowjob for Stan Lee that Mighty 7 is.

Next Episode:

If you’re reading this, then I’ve forgotten to change the template.

  • Kitsu says:

It Stan Lee is okay with this
    Your opinion dont matter

    • Mendou says:

Keep in mind, Stan Lee okayed the 1970s Captain America TV movies and the execrable 1990s direct-to-video Captain America movie. Plus, it’s been a decade or two at least since he had any say whatsoever in the day-to-day running of Marvel. Not that that would have stopped him from signing on the dotted line and collecting the royalties check…… (Keep in mind I do like Stan Lee……)

  • shadow-peck@hotmail.com says:

bishonen captain america, bishonen loki and thor ?
    then bishonen tanos too ?
Ok no problem ( it is not equal to omega for saint seiya, omega was a shit)

  • Flip Porter says:

All I gotta say is wtf saw majin bone (well couple minutes before decided my time was better spent watching the ceiling fan spin) and it feels like i’m already seeing a decrease in quality detail for the characters/scenery. I’m hoping that’s just due to them selling for children and being ads for toys.

  • The Phantom says:

Was expecting a retarded show and was not disappointed at all. Is a shameless effort to sell toys.
