Now those are some annoying noises.

I think I’m just going to give up entirely on Ixion Saga. I have pretty much no hope of it getting either better enough or worse enough at this point to be amusing. I really don’t know if I even want to try to survive two more months of it. It’s probably long overdue anyway. Curse that one episode giving me a glimmer of hope.

Impressions:

Sunrise lost hold of the reins on the BGM again this week. It was worst in the middle in the fastfood restaurant and when they first showed up to Niko’s little idol clubroom. The entire… uh… ‘character’… thing also seemed like it screamed for a punchline, not adulation and the immediate deletion of half the characters from the scene. I’m also not entirely sure that "You need to fabricate an obnoxiously cloying fake personality" is really in line with the show’s other themes, valid or not as it may be.

Otherwise, pretty standard episode. Niko had a few funny moments, mostly in the chase scene, but aside from people twiddling with the BGM volume knob again, nothing particularly notable about the episode. They are reaching critical mass in the number of coaches at this point though and probably need to actually start singing again or doing something at least besides simply recruiting the entire school into their club.
