Ladies vs Butlers! #11 — Tryaqualand Battle

March 16th, 2010

Couldn’t they at least try to get the English right?

Man, screw daylight savings and Japan’s non-observance of it. Everything’s an hour later than it’s supposed to be now! My precious, precious schedule…

Impressions:

Meh. This episode went in exactly the direction I was hoping that it wouldn’t. Everything just boiled down to "Let’s compete in this athletics festival (out of literally nowhere) over Hino." But as far as I’m concerned, since Selnia already spent the entire day with him, she wins regardless. It was even more disappointing since they didn’t even finsh the blood thing. Since there’s no way in hell we were getting a resolution to this in the second to last episode (or likely at all), I was expecting Hino to have some other commitment that day thus rendering all of this pointless, probably a date with the bishie. It feels actually worse that they just didn’t even bother to finish it.

Very little else to say about this episode since it went absolutely nowhere and just used the athletics fetival as essentially a five minute fanservice montage. I’ll never understand the fetishism around athletic bloomers. Plain, drab, boring, sweaty, generic utilitarian blue, etc. Bah. Disgusting things, really. And that’s the deepest thought I have to share about this episode.

11 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

  • Yue says:

Shorts for physical education or any athletics event. I don’t get it why bloomers are sensibly implemented in Japan, much less the object of freaky fantasies. ~_~

    • Travis says:

Couldn’t agree with you and Aro more. I blame the nuclear bomb and the constitutional and cultural demasculinization of Japan, as well as an entrenched fratrisocial and misogynist mindset.

      So yeah.

Also, isn’t it kind of weird that this school even has an athletic festival? Wasn’t this supposed to be about some sort of butler/lady training? My confusion has reached critical mass!

      • Yue says:

The kinetic barriers can’t hold on anymore! She’s going to explode!! ABANDON SHIP!!! XD

      • Travis says:

Mein Gott! She’s manifested an AT field!.. But it is of no consequence, I shall stand by the craft to the bitter end! :p

      • Albedo says:

Does this mean that we are going to see a still of Hino in a giant mech clutching his crazy childhood friend for 12 minutes before popping his/her head off?

  • Yue says:

Also, those who wrote this episode are drunk and shamelessly grinning with ideas.

I bet if the next Olympics incorporates bloomers then we’ll have a more creepy people in attendance complete with telescopes/binoculars and cameramen shooting in weird angles. ^_~

  • karry says:

What the…no bared tits in this episode ? What gives ?

    • Aroduc says:

No, during the announcement of the school festival, it panned over random shots of girls changing just to cram some in somewhere.

  • Lollerman says:

So, in the end, what exactly happened. We had a race that didn’t end, and now recap? Isn’t the series ending? Did somebody really greenlight this as a 24-26 episode series? Really?
