When the Seagulls Cry #17 — People Who Are Killed…

October 21st, 2009

Oh wait, she is dead again.

Impressions:

An okay episode, but now that the ‘real’ world is just Evatrice indiscriminantly murdering everybody she can, most of the interesting development is with meta-Battler and Beatrice. After their initial conversation, most of the rest of the episode was pretty dull, and getting the Siesta’s recycled Love Love Attack didn’t help that either. They really could have cut down on Eva and Evatrice arguing yet again about who is independant of who since by this point, what with the murdering of her husband, I think that was pretty self-evident. There’s practically nobody left alive on the island at this point anyway, so next week should be a lot of witches and metaworld stuff.

Yeah, short thoughts this week. I’m exhausted and have a ton of studying to do.

Brief Summary:

After the new murders are discovered, Battler berates Beatrice some more, even reducing her to tears, but does tell her that maybe she could turn herself around in his eyes. She thanks him and teleports off to invite George to see Shannon again. She uses her magic to let them leave. Evatrice senses it, but all of her servants claim to be ignorant of anything going on. Elsewhere, Eva and Evatrice have another crazy-off. Eva eventually has to excuse herself from the room, and as soon as she’s gone, Evatrice has the Siestas shoot through the locks of the house and kill Natsuhi and Krauss.

Elsewhere, Beatrice shows George Shannon’s corpse. She uses her magic to bring it back to life, but the Siestas immediately kill both of them. Evatrice is now just looking for a fight with Beatrice. The survivors rush outside to find the missing people, and discover Jessica’s parents’ corpses. She and Eva start going at it with each other until Eva runs off to find George. Outside the room they find the magical seals and a strange number scrawled on the door. Inside, they find George’s corpse. Battler thinks to himself that he’s lost his whole family now, but then remembers his sister, Ange. Jessica runs in and gets into it with Eva again. Eva shoots at Jessica in a panic and the muzzle flash burns Jessica’s eyes. Nanjou takes her away to bandage her, but then Jessica sends him back to get Battler away from Eva. As soon as Najou leaves, he’s killed by Evatrice, who starts taunting Jessica.

I hope they make the Tear Jerker scene an actual Tear Jerker.

Ah, good, they mentioned Ange. I was beginning to worry not introducing her before next week’s episode would be confusing to some.

They could’ve at least mentioned her back in episode 1 so it wouldn’t feel so odd.

      Oh well.

My trollface folder is now 90% Umineko anime screenshots. Mostly of Maria and Evatrice.

At least DEEN is good for something.
