Type-Moon Professional Wrestling

March 31st, 2008

I’d buy it. Sacchin in spandex gettting Code Squared is still worth a giggle at the very least. Be sure to make the rounds to find all the other fun stuff for the day. Who knows… there may be a Da Capo 2: BL Edition out there just for you.

Dead Fantasy 2 – Of Fan Videos and Action Choreography

March 25th, 2008

I love stuff like this. It’s a little high on the Final Fantasy fanwankery side, but this is the kind of action and choreography that I grew up loving. It’s so sad to see how people hold up the number of frames used to animate blowing wind, or falling snow and call that dynamic animation. Strait Jacket is a perfect example… very well animated, but because the actual action in this action show is totally lifeless, what’s the point? Slow motion and spinning cameras seem to be the big thing these days. I swear… Advent Children just about made me ill with its flailing camera work. Watch the camera work on this one… rarely jumps or shifts perspectives entirely, letting you actually follow the action instead of trying to overwhelm you. I miss just watching Jackie Chan flail around like the awesome little midget that he is. Anyway, I’ll keep this brief because it’s time you should be spending watching the above. Even fanwankery aside, it’s pretty damn awesome. Obviously, check out the prequel as well. Also, I still find it hilarious that Hitomi (voiced by Horie Yui, don’t forget) is the counter to Tifa.
