Magical Battle Arena New Demo — Kirara

August 10th, 2008

Grab it here.
Kirara plays pretty similarly to Nanoha, only a lot slower. Her melee special is the sword rush, ranged is just a charged version of her normal ranged (a very slow thrown bomb), and her shield special is an Ex-Shield. Her supers are a little wacky. Her single person super summons Sarara if it hits. Sarara shoots at the enemy, who dodges, and then Kirara shoots the enemy on the dodge. Her other super is the giant pentagram seen in previous promos which travels a short distance forward. She honestly seems a bit lackluster compared to Lina and Nanoha after three to four minutes of messing around with her, but I guess we’ll see. Her pentagram super does come out lightning fast compared to the Dragon Slave/Starlight Breaker though.

So…do we now when the full version will come out?

  • addict says:

looks cool… i’ve tried messing around wif the spells but does how do i get the supers? i cant seem to get a dragon slave or starlight breaker when playing the first demo…

  • Hyosuke says:

LOL! I’m having the same problem. I’ve only tried it with Nanoha but I have no idea how to activate Excellion mode. Of course my opponent does. ^_^ All in all though the game is pretty nice. I love the opening song, I hope to be able to find that later.

  • Aroduc says:

Special + Dash activates Overdrive. Special + Dash + (Melee/Ranged) activates the two supers while in Overdrive.

  • Anonym says:

But you have to have low (red) HP to use the other special… Or am I wrong…?

  • Aroduc says:

    You’re wrong. ^^

  • Anonym says:

Maybe it’s just me then. I can’t seem to use Excellion Buster, Laguna Blade and Kirara/Sarara combo on normal mode when my HP is not red.

  • Nei says:

He is right. You can not use the second special if it’s not your last health line, unless you are in training mode.

  • Aroduc says:

Yeah, apologies. I just went ahead and tested it in normal mode. The training thing is what threw me. You used to be able to do both of them at will. Of course, your super meter also used to charge like a mo-fo too. This is a bit more balanced.

  • Unknown Fairy says:

when you see the red gauge at full(the one encircling the face of the character) press s+c to activate the magic burst, after the character does the magic burst hold s+c again and press either a or z
    s+c then a = long rage
s+c then z = short range attack (depends on char)*works on practice
