Dragon Crisis! #06 — Wag the Dog

February 14th, 2011

Woof woof.

Impressions:

This episode did not begin well. They really could not think of a better way to introduce Eye Mofumofu than having her fall out of a tree onto Ryuuji’s face? Really? Thankfully, it did pick up a lot after that until the kind of awful cliffhanger. Ryuuji was doing such a great passable job at not being a spineless twit for the whole episode until he stared blankly at some guy (Mofumofu’s master) gassing Eriko and Rose and proceeded to think to himself "I wonder what’s going on. It couldn’t be anything dangerous, could it? Nah. That kind of thing never happens." I’m hoping it was all part of Eriko’s master plan anyway, because being cheapshotted like that seems sad even for her. At least she’s still smarter than the security guards at that party. "Quick, a wolf girl’s stealing stuff and has now jumped onto the table… EVERYBODY UP ONTO THE TABLE TO FOLLOW HER!"

Most of the episode was a lot of fun though. Fairly stupid fun, but fun. They did a suspiciously good job with Mofumofu’s fight against a bunch of generic idiot security guards and kept the random Lost Precious babble to a minimum, even at a galleria full of the crap. Mofumofu’s also cute, even if Deen can’t seem to draw her breasts the same way twice. Letting Eriko take charge by handcuffing her to her bed before straddling her and tickling her, followed by Rose fondling her into a tailgasm was a wise decision. Hell, if the whole show was nothing more than Eriko/Rose tickling/fondling their enemies into submission between random knife fights, I’d count that as a vast improvement. I’ll take moving right along into what appears to be mostly action next week as a perfectly acceptable consolation prize. Of course, I’m sure Eye’s master will reveal some extra super evil plan or sacrifice her and call her trash like all these villains with dogs are wont to do, but I’m just happy to take a short break from the "dragons and humans can neeeeeever get along" nonsense.

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY.

  • Aex says:

Ai’s friggen adorable. Why are the ones that are raised by psychopaths always adorable? Liked this episode, good comedy. These cliffhangers have already gotten old though…

    • Aroduc says:

I was wondering if CR was going to screw that up. Sounds like it. Her pseudonym is オッドアイ (Odd Eye).

  • Amyable says:

This show does nothing to fix my heterochromia fetish. In fact, it only makes it worse.

  • GF202020 says:

    Eriko has a bondage fetish?

  • chad001 says:

Well, I can see how this is gonna play out:

    1.She puts on the earrings,
    2. Hears Furumori’s thoughts,
    3. Betrayal.
    4. Angst
    5. Turning good.
    6. The End

  • chad001 says:

Great security guys, really. You’re only protecting the world’s people, and WMD’s that people have DIED to create, and have started great conflict over, and the most dangerous weapon you choose to bring, save for your SWAT outfit, was ONE freakin’ KNIFE! AIMED AT THE GENERAL DIRECTION OF SOMEONE’S (RICH) GRANDMOTHER TO BOOT! Even that hotel a couple episodes back was more defended than this. AT LEAST THEY HAD (if rather ineffective) GUNS!

    • Tylon says:

It is rather difficult to use a gun in this kind of civilian concentrated situation. Yes, I also would want to complain about the flying dagger or knife.
However, there is another more illogical thing that happened. Why didn’t the civilian take cover or stay low? The security forces can’t use their guns if the civilian are in the line of fire!!!

      • Yue says:

They didn’t take cover or stayed low because of “Social Ego”. It’s all about poise, refined well-manners and etiquette. Even if there was a zombie outbreak, they’ll move in a quite orderly fashion. XD

  • Chibi says:

I’m still wondering how the hell did ryuji make dinner while handcuffed with Ai.
Either they are bluffing (and Ai is an idiot for believing Eriko) or the writers can’t do their job.

    • Pseud says:

I wondered about that for half a second, Chibi, before realising that they had already explained it. The food was left-overs of something Ryuji made earlier that Erika had reheated. Guess the writers are on the ball sometimes.

  • jingoi says:

hope eriko is also interested in ryuji since I’m only watching this for fanservice.
