Poor Sonken.

Impressions:

Well, this episode was nowhere near as amusing as the first episode. I’m not sure if it was all the strange Koukin/Sonken flirtations going on or the kind of weirdly built up Lightesque character who has also seemingly left this mortal coil all in one episode. I guess maybe it was to show just how far above the ‘normal’ fighters Hakufu and the gang are, but that was just really really anticlimactic. I’m not even sure what his name was at the end of it. Eien, Eni, something like that. I thought his cronies were just calling him "anii" the first couple times. Well, luckily, he won’t be appearing again, so let’s just call him mud.

Mostly a Sonken based episode at any rate. I really want to see her fight at some point, not be a damsel in distress for the whole series. Hopefully Ryofu will turn her against Nanyou or something. She’s perfectly appropriate for having a dragon hiding in her somewhere, though if being nearly raped didn’t bring it out, who knows what will. Probably Koukin or Hakufu being beat up or something similar.

Next week looks quite a bit better though. There was a rather nice clip of a fight between (what looks like a younger) Ryofu and Ryomou as well as general Hakufu idiot-friendliness directed at our favorite overly aggressive bisexual sadomasochist.

Oh, and I hate the OP.

Great Guardians OP

Hakufu takes another bath. Sonken waits patiently for her.

Koukin leaves the bathroom again… is every episode going to start like this? He flashes back to the previous day… bringing Sonken home to Goei. Goei chewed out Hakufu briefly for the thrashed clothes, but happily went right up to Sonken.

Inside, introductions are had all around. Sonken’s a little taken back that Koukin would address her as "Chubou-san," and wants him to drop the formality. Koukin manages it on one try, which gets him in turn referred to as "Koukin-oniisama." Apparently somebody’s got a sister complex.

Koukin opens the bath to see Hakufu pretty much naked and Sonken mostly undressed. She spazzes and he nosebleeds.

Breakfast. Hakufu’s already recovered, or never cared in the first place, but Sonken and Koukin are still flustered. Hakufu doesn’t see what the deal is, she says that he always walks in on her. They feud for a bit before it’s time to go to school.

Koukin tries to ask Goei if Sonken’s really Hakufu’s sister, but Goei tells him to drop it.

As they walk, Sonken spaces out. Koukin pulls her out of the way of a bus causing more blushing, which Hakufu interprets as illness. Don’t worry though, Hakufu will take care of her and beat up anybody in their way.

The first on the list is Gakushu, who’s a bit surprised that this would be Hakufu’s sister. She nervously introduces herself, but then he smiles and tries to hit on her. Hakufu pushes him out of the way, but Sonken still gets invited out. Ryomou’s hanging around too.

Some guy is keeping tabs on them, taking pictures of Sonken… mostly her face and breasts. He tells his minions that’s enough and plots his revenge on Hakufu from the dark room.

During lunch, Koukin looks around. Sonken chases after him and finds him feeding a kitten behind the school. Apparently Hakufu found the cat and wanted to bring it home, but Koukin put the kibosh on that. Hakufu said she’d definitely take care of it, but like all things, Koukin’s been doing most of the work.

Sonken thinks that Hakufu really is amazing and kind. She’s the kind of toushi everybody looks up to. Koukin grabs Sonken’s shoulders and starts to refute her, before realizing that he’s shaking Hocchan and more blushing.

Hakufu leaves a convenience store, ready to care for the cat at full power… with a giant mackeral. She hears something from an alley, talking about an imbecile toushi that cares for a cat day in and day out, neglecting all her other duties, etc etc. They all laugh. Hakufu gets pissed and rushes off, leaving the fish behind.

At school, Koukin and Sonken try to track down the missing Hakufu. The conversation pretty quickly turns to Ryomou’s parttime job and how cute her maid dress is. You’re a strange one, Koukin. She gets annoyed and has places to be anyway, so takes off, smiling at Sonken as she goes. Sonken wonders what to do next with her ONII-SAMA as mysterious guy lurks.

Ryomou surprises a moping Hakufu. Seeing Hakufu’s sad face, she starts laughing uncontrollably.

Hakufu tells Ryomou everything she overheard. Ryomou admits that some parts of it were right, Hakufu is pretty stupid. However, what is a toushi? Those feelings, everything that Hakufu protects, that’s Hakufu. Ryomou calls her stupid for forgetting that. Hakufu mopes for a second, but then glomps Ryomou. Mou tells Hakufu that Koukin was looking for her so Hakufu trots off. Ryomou calls Gakushu after Hakufu leaves.

Hakufu runs through town. She finds Koukin injured… Sonken was…

In a construction site, Sonken is tied up and the minions prepare to… who knows.

Koukin tries to stop Hakufu from running off.

The minions take photos of Sonken, planning to use them as blackmail and to undermine Hakufu.

Koukin explains that the one behind it is Eni (??).

Alright, that’s enough photos of her clothed… they reach to strip her, but Eni stops them and tells her that’s not neccessary. Sonken asks if he’s really Eni, but as he gathers chi and uses it to slice open her jacket, he tells her to address her as master. He kisses her cheek and then licks her, saying he loves girls like her.

He uses his chi to slice open her clothes and starts licking her panties. Sonken cries out for Hakufu to save her.

The door falls down. Koukin and Hakufu have arrived. She demands her be released, but he says that Hakufu’s unacceptable as their leader. Hakufu absolutely refuses and blasts out a huge aura that shatters the window. Eien keeps ranting about how stupid Hakufu is. Hakufu admits that she’s stupid, but he’s still wrong about her.

He calls in the minions… but then collapse. Gakushu already took care of them.

Too bad though, Eni’s not about to let them survive this. He shoots a huge energy wave at Sonken, but it disperses at the last second. Ryomou’s there too. Eni finally realizes that he’s lost control of the situation as Hakufu declares that she’ll destroy those that pick on her sister and screams in terror.

Sonken apologizes to Koukin and Hakufu for worrying them. Koukin’s a bit confused as to why there’s a fish hanging on the wall.

That sets Hakufu flipping out about the fish, but Koukin tells her that he took care of it. Sonken wants a favor… she wants to bring it breakfast tomorrow too. Hakufu happily tells her that’s fine. Sonken’s so happy that Hakufu called her "Chubou" for the first time that Hakufu gets Hocchan glomped.

The toushi disperse. Ryomou sees Saji and chases after him, but her dragon starts paining her again. THe cowled woman watches her run past. Ryomou runs to a park where she finds a falled woman… Ryofu Housen. Ryomou’s shocked. Saji watches from a building overhead.
