The Witch From Mercury #16 — Sudden Lapses of Amorality

Most scenes may contain tea for some goddamned reason.

Impressions:

Another tedious episode entirely of people suddenly pretending like they suddenly have moral and ethical standards and are oh so conflicted about it, but not actually going to do anything for a while. The first three terrorist attacks we can ignore, but we're at this war school with human slavery built into the school code that constantly has violence spill out into the quad. A fourth terrorist attack is too much. We only accept random violence if it involves selling random girls as wives like proper civilization! And sure, I worked for and ran the orphan incinerator, throwing at least a dozen kids I experimented on into it trying to create the perfect soldier, but you engaged in a little transhumanism! None of these are consistent or sensical stances to take, but sure, let's have an entire episode that's just people clutching their fists and being upset about it.

The only even vaguely interesting thing in the episode was an attempt to hijack Aerial, and psychically knowing that everybody in the immediate area has already had the spoilers revealed, just swarms the dude with ghost copies of herself. Even the whole ending speech was pretty lame and just continues Miorine's whole obnoxious schtick of just sitting on the sidelines feeling sorry for herself. Your father killed my family and friends, therefore you owe me! Also, wasn't this common knowledge? Why are we gasping in shock about it? Didn't he rise to power on his fame for his genociding of the original Gundam research group? If you're so evil and bent on vengeance, then freaking do something other than give speeches about stuff you did a decade and a half ago. What evil have you even done in the last five years, let alone any point in the show itself? This is such a lazy evil conspiracy.
