Is he going to forget his sword every time he goes to fight something?

Impressions:

It's super weird that the animation effort for this episode went into the random old dude sparring with the obligatory rivals at the start of the episode, and certainly not into Jiro and pals meeting up with them later, nor in the orcs sacrificing themselves. Hell, the latter happened basically offscreen, though I wouldn't be too surprised if that orc came trundling back at some point, either as a brainwashed enemy to mercy kill or just to randomly save the day. Anime tends to milk the hell out of actual death scenes, and there was no milking whatsoever for a character who'd been around for two episodes.

Not a whole lot otherwise though, besides a rolling of the eyes are various small things. Use this special fuel to get up the mountain fast. We'll be walking behind you and will be arriving… 45 seconds after you. Seems like we're just full on doing the Chaika/clone thing as well without any twists on it so far. There's also some kind of evil Galactus cult in the background on top of some nobles scheming. The antagonist stable is getting pretty crowded considering that most of the threats week to week have been Random Possessed Animal of the Week.
