Are You Really the Only One? #02 — Pretty Little Liars

The running bench gag is not as funny as they think it is.
Quasi-Impressions:
I guess I'm calling this second place of the episodes I tried to watch today, but that's far more an indictment of everything else than it is praise of this. The animal wrestler thing that relied on a tiny handful of repeated jokes just repeated the same jokes for a second episode in a row, except this time, he wrestled an orc at the end of the episode instead of another dude at the start. The bookworm thing was just a fat lot more of nothing, and the dice club hasn't technically aired yet (at least as of this writing), but its first episode was miserable enough.
And speaking of misery, that's what this episode decided to wallow in. Now that it's ripped off its mask to reveal its true self, it's time to… put that mask right back on and spend a whole episode being nothing but a Nice Guy v1.0, the doormat variety who is incapable of doing anything besides being walked all over by everybody and everything. An inanimate prop for characters to melodrama at while he overreacts, but only in internal screaming form. It spends the entire episode closing up the relationship circle with the blonde dude having a crush on the glasses girl, with each goddamned character throwing a tantrum in turn over the protagonist having lied to them while he throws his own tantrum about this particular lie coming out, even while continuing to lie to them. Is this supposed to be a schadenfreude kind of comedy? It doesn't work very well when the protagonist is a barely sentient mannequin instead of the artchitect of his own downfall.
