For My Daughter… #01 — World’s Most Perfect Little Girl
July 4th, 2019
There's like a 75% chance this ends with a flashforward and them being married.
Impressions:
This will seem like a strange place to start, but man, was this dude's weird-ass turtleneck distracting. Then I noticed that a bunch of townspeople had giant collars too. Is that the style in this setting? Weird flex. In any case, there's no meat here. Every story doesn't need to be a life or death, epic sprawling chronicle, but it needs to have some kind of drama. Some kind of challenge for the characters to confront, and then overcome or succumb to, even if it's something as banal as learning that it's okay to like terrible boy bands. This instead has a dude finding the world's most perfect little girl in the woods, and about twenty minutes of her being a flawless, ridiculous cliche. The kind that usually ends up stuffed in a fridge to motivate a quest for revenge because when you set about creating a one-dimensional angelic child, that's usually their fate.
But not here. She's quite literally flawless. Sure, she may be squalid, filthy, starving, and sitting next to the corpse of her father, but she still has perfect table manners. Even knows how to use silverware perfectly. The rough and tumbles over there don't want no child around, but wait, she smiled, and instantly reduced them all to quivering, blushing nitwits with her inner perfection. It's superficial, insubstantial tripe, so it's good that they're not spending almost any effort on animating it either, although the one moment in it that made me laugh was when he first picked her up and the literal heavens opened to shine their blessing upon them. Subtle symbolism.

It could be worse at least it is not an isekai, although I do not know how much it could change is practically like dark lord retry for putting an adult in the care of a girl, but without status screens.
