Slayers Evolution-R #09 — Doing Son of Sam Proud

The pot says… kill and eat your neighbors!
Don’t know where the decent quality raws are this week, and at this point, don’t care.
Impressions:
Well, on one hand, it was pretty much just a filler episode, but on the other, it was very silly. Rezo’s apparently gone quite eccentric during his stay in a pot, and spends the first half of the episode issuing bizarre directives to the party through Ozel. I especially enjoyed Ozel beaning Zel with Rezo. The second half was just bandits trying to steal the pot because it seemed valuable, and one of them having enough magical mojo to make a ton of pots for Lina to smash in a curiously well animated few seconds. Why they chose to sink part of the budget into Lina smashing pots is a question for the ages. Then it turns out that every weird thing Rezo commanded them to do helped the townspeople in some way, and he heals a blind kid, thus proving he really is Rezo.
Like I said though, this really didn’t go anywhere or do anything. They don’t really know what to do with the pot, aside from knowing that releasing Rezo is probably not a great idea, but that’s about it. They’re pretty much back in generic journey mode right now (although with 4 episodes left, I’m not sure why), and the existence of a spasming fishman in the next episode preview really doesn’t make me think that they’ll be letting loose Rezo (or whoever the big boss is here) next week either.
As a side note, I’m wondering how many more weeks they can possibly drag out the whole Ozel/Rezo thing until somebody (probably Gourry) points out that Ozel is Rezo spelled backwards with the usual Japanese slurring of Ls and Rs. I’m putting the over/under at two and a half. Either that, or the Slayers author has gotten incredibly lazy about thinking up names.

I wonder… Why Zel is so… angry? O_O
It’ll be cool if this is something about thing that was in manga(about Zel becoming bad guy and traitor).
