Honesty #01 — The Ass-Prints of Budding Love
January 5th, 2017
Congrats! You're the more repugnant, appalling show of the day!
Impressions:
All right. I admit it. I laughed out loud at this episode. Specifically at the part where the protagonist kicked a girl of his desk, then sighed wearily when she flirted with him, only to stare down at her ass-print disappearing and be so overcome that he stood there paralyzed and blushing, overcome with feelings, while another girl stares daggers at him, probably for the boner he hasn't noticed yet. I can, without a shadow of a doubt, say that was not the intention of the scene. It also kind of also sums up everything wrong with this too. While the protagonist doesn't begin with an internal explanation of how he's a huge sack of crap, it only takes a minute or two for that to clearly get across. Every single interaction with a female is a burden on him. They keep trying to be his friends. They keep playing games with him. They get so close to him. They keep excitedly talking to him about their interests. They keep flirting with him. Ugh! What a horrible burden! Why must he suffer so!? Guess he better sigh again about how much this sucks for the fiftieth time today… and yet… those ass-prints are giving him feelings that maybe he feels something more.
So yeah, this is basically another in Japan's parade of abhorrent wish fulfillment things where the protagonist starts out enduring the adulation of every female within a 50 mile radius because he's sort of vageuly harmlessly nice enough to put up with them fawning over him. I can't help but think back to Kimikiss's first episode and how much I liked it despite being similar in general framing, except, of course, for the marked differences of having two different triangles going on, and characters actually initiating and trying to develop relationships right away. Actual characters with actual relationships. It screwed much of that up later on, but it didn't just have one unlikeable sack of potatoes and various sacks of meat throwing themselves at him for his overwhelming potatoness. And make no mistake, the pure cheesecake OP and especially ED show that the creators see these 'characters' as nothing but T&A and emotional pandering for all the lonely 'nice' guys out there.

Did you seriously endure that dumb ass face for the whole episode? It was already unwatchable from the 5 minute mark, I wanted so bad that devil girl from Youjo Senki to come here and crush him.
I hate this crap, the male lead from Amagami was also a pile of shit, but this dude is even of a higher level of stupidity, the girls seem even more bland and the whole show looks like a half baked copy of that show.
No back-knee kissing to save the day here with hilarity/comical stupidity is just a bland bland bland pile of shit.
