Have Fled Country — Don’t Tell the Mounties
January 23rd, 2009
Yumina the Ethereal is a very silly game. It’s also a game that thrives on charts and numbers. It’s a rather charming little game so far and I haven’t managed to stalemate myself in a battle yet, like you could in the demo, so hopefully they’ve ironed out that little issue. I love all the silly little loading screens though. I’m glad "Now Eating…" was just the beginning. Expect a more full writeup probably on Tuesday.
Ar Tonelico 2’s localization is… disappointing. They cut a massive portion of the voiced segments on both Japanese and English tracks. When this scene is just a bunch of text, it loses a lot of the fun. It’s still plenty suggestive and silly, but it also feels a bit soulless. I’m still not too far into it for lack of time, but otherwise it’s relatively enjoyable. Neither Cloche nor Luca stack up to Misha though. *sigh*
I’m fleeing the country for the weekend. I’m relatively sure I’ll have an internet connection to get stuff done in the evenings. I’ll be back Sunday evening, so everything between now and then will probably be somewhat late, but should in theory be finished in the evening. Do expect at least Casshern to get bumped to Monday, as well as possibly Slayers depending on how exhausted I am by the end of the drive back.
