I think you need a better hero name.

Impressions:

Speaking of misusing CGI for panning over vehicles, around rooms, and making goddamned yarn balls roll… I think I could really get behind the show that they promised in the first five minutes. In the season preview, I lamented the lack of any spiritual successor to your Cutie Honeys, Gunsmith Cats, Burn Ups, etc in a long while, and a flamboyant juice-based heroine beating the hell out of people with a giant straw as the frontman for a crime fighting team is relatively close. Then things got a little dark when she was nearly executed with a bullet to the back of the head. You were just posing and hitting people with a giant straw, guys. I think cold-blooded murder might be a bit too much of a shift.

After that came the exposition. And more exposition. And more exposition. And good bloody god, the last two thirds of the episode was almost entirely godforsaken exposition. Worse, exposition at an obnoxious screaming male who they seem to have decided to literally write “insubstantial” into the very core of his character. Then why does he exist at all? Oh right, so you can make your stupid awful joke about screaming or making stupid faces when he sees women’s underwear with the world on the line. They also needed someone to explain the bad cliche jokes too. “You must level up.” “That’s like in games.” –Level up!– Another fantastic joke they’ll be telling for years to come.

What be ye, show? Exposition-fest with some obnoxious dumbass constantly yelling about panties that you’ve decided to take the awful nosebleed fountain thing and swap that out with “planet explodes” and do it constantly anyway? Or crime fighting super girl squad hitting people with strange objects? Because I’d much rather see one than the other.
