Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Kai #07 — Minagoroshi-Hen Part 2

August 16th, 2007

Full of bloody memories of yesterday, looking towards tomorrow for hope.

Aroduc’s Bulletpoint Summaryâ„¢

Very much a calm before the storm episode. Super super calm. For… well… I won’t spoil things, but it is called the Massacre Chapter after all.

  • Team schoolkids are cleaning up when Mion tells them they’ve got more to do.
  • While eating the rice balls that Mion brought, K-1 gets a feeling of deja vu. Rika prods him and gets him to remember a ‘dream’ where K-1 took a riceball that had a needle in it.
  • Mion overhears a little bit and K-1 says that there’s no way Mion would do something like that, but Rika is still shocked by K-1’s memories.
  • Rena remembers a ‘dream’ where she killed a woman her father was seeing. She panics, but Mion calms her down and tells her to talk to her father about it, which she did and everybody’s happy again.
  • Shion also had a dream where she killed Mion and Satoko, but group hugs for all this time.
  • At night, Rika and Hanyuu are optimistic from all the dreams and good feelings and decide that Tomitake and Takano’s deaths can be prevented as well.
  • Rika visits those two and lets them into a storage shed at the temple.
  • Takano goes into obsessive mode, making Hanyuu very annoyed since most of Takano’s rantings are about Oyashirou.
  • Rika then tells the two that Rika will die, and they will be killed.
  • Later, Takano and Tomitake are filling in Irie and they decide to let the Yamainu handle it.
  • Hanyuu isn’t confident in them though, and wishes she had more power.
  • Even Ooishi is friendly with the kids in this world.
  • Akasaka is also in this world, and says that he’s in this world to save Rika’s life.
  • Rika is super confident at this point that the world will be better, and even puts herself in danger just to prove to Hanyuu that the Yamainu are protecting them. Hanyuu remains worried.
