Dramatical Murder #01 — The Poppedest of Collars

July 6th, 2014

That’s past popped and all the way to exploded.

Impressions:

I guess at least the art remained consistent. Ridiculous, but consistent. Actual animation, though, that was all but nonexistent. Hell, even their way of showing Magic Voice(tm) was by saying after the fact “That was your magic voice.” And that was pretty much how the entirety of the episode passed. Blue Hair just stood there as people and furbies yammered at him. The most insultingly awful part was when there was one of the magic science game fight things starting. They gave long introductions to the people and the entire time, we were just watching him watching the intro. And then he started to leave before anybody even goddamned did anything, only to be waylaid by twins and exposited on some more.

The only time it was even the slightest bit interesting or had a marginal bit of effort put into it was 21 minutes in. They found the CGI tools and started flinging rabbit dolls around, calling that ‘action.’ I was not fooled in the slightest. Everything else was cheap, uneventful, and boring. This was yet another show that probably should have started at the 19 minute mark because goddamned nothing happened before that and all it succeeded in doing to that point was bore me to tears. Tedious, empty, wasted space neither intrigues nor excites me to see any more.

Not gonna lie, when I first saw this I thought it was Re: Hamatora

Good god that is an obnoxious outfit Bluehair has on.

  • anise_punter says:

Not since I visited the University of Virginia have I seen a popped collar like that one.

  • rufe says:

They keep the entire opening from the games, but cut out all the information from the monologue and a lot of dialog. Pretty unfortunate in animated form…

  • The Phantom says:

Ridiculous title, no females, just a bunch of losers pretending to look cool while playing a stupid game.

Something must be wrong with Japanese when so many shows all of the sudden are about playing a game for living or mixing real life with a game.

    • Chipp12 says:

      >no females
Umm… sorry to bring this to you but it’s based on BL game. Even Togainu had only one female that appeared for like 5 minutes in the whole series.

  • algorithm says:

Too much viagra for this guy.

  • UltimaLuminaire says:

The boys love this season is off the charts.
