Princess Resurrection OVA #03 — Future Back Problems
October 14th, 2011
Those aren’t breasts. They’re a weight training device for reaching Super Maid II.
Oops. This was out yesterday. I really need to pay more attention to OVA schedules. I’m aware of Saber Alter’s Carnival Phantasm debut at least.
Impressions:
Like the other two, this was just a random chunk of the story already in progress without any real introduction to the (plethora of) new characters and the like. Not ideal, but it’s certainly a refreshing change of pace from having every goddamned thing listed and spelled out… at length. This picks up with Sherwood’s disappearance on the island and goes to the end of Sylvie and Hime’s fight after figuring out the secret of Witch Mountain. …And then punching the mountain in the eye using a giant robot. Even for this series, that could have used a little… um… work, shall we say.
Neither of the past two episodes were particularly cohesive either though. However, it was definitely a huge letdown in production and action from the train episode last time. Sylvie and Hime’s fight especially didn’t come anywhere close to the chainsawing, sword boomeranging, or just Reiri being Reiri. Hell, Reiri was barely even hanging around (nyuk nyuk) at all this week. Hime and Sylvie exchanged a few blows, stabbed each other in the shoulder, and then a convenient shockwave knocked Sylvie into the ravine. She had to make things worse too by tossing up the most cliched line possible as she fell. Come on, Tatsunoko. Pull it together. You did such a great job with this last time. This was just bad.

I like how they either have gigantic breasts or a flat chest. I noticed Horizon is also guilty of this.
(I’m in camp A for the record, or J to be more accurate.)
