#ZombieSurgery #04 — Polite Masked Gang

Slap a chainsaw on that stump already.
I do plan on covering the second episode of Dreamland, but it airs late and there seems to be some funny business around it. I'll get to it when I can.
Impressions:
I can't say that I'm much liking all the focus on Yu. She's just not a very interesting character and everyone just keeps yelling at her that they need to do their best, be friends, and try their hardest, which she always reacts to with widened eyes and a gasp. Over and over. There's only so many times you can squeeze this rock, and there wasn't any juice in it to start with. All the inner monologues aren't helping either. As if they ever do. Not quite to the level of cheat power stuff, but now that I've excised those from my watching, they're beginning to get tedious.
The random group of more mercenary survivors were also pretty strange. Weirdly polite and respectful, much moreso than the director, who definitely thought an entire spreadeagle shot with boobs rocketing into the air was necessary. Again though, why are we reinventing the wheel in the most bizarre ways? Why threaten a small child with a syringe of poison when any kind of sharp object is easier to hold, use, and less likely to cause issues in a scuffle? You've picked the weapon most likely to kill yourself with in a fight with a child. And this is weird morality. You're bad because you kicked her out for being infected, not like us, who… hid that we knew she was infected and mercy killed her? There are no feel-good choices to be made here either way.
