Ah, yes. This show's unhinged nature is coming back to me.

Impressions:

It can't even do the OP like a normal show. Sure, many start playing while the intro is still underway, but few will pretend to cut back to the episode before the OP is over, only to go psyche! and then the title card appears. Genuinely what happened there? It wasn't even seguing into the episode. It's just a random scene of him saying hi to one of the random girls that I can't keep track of. But that, if anything, probably helps. He's just seducing literally everybody with nothing in his head but pumping gains. And all his bros are there for the comraderie and their own gains. With all these cheat power RPG worlds, you're not going to find a crossdressing assassin bodybuilder screaming at drill-haired girls to yell "ranger" at him in a single one of them, while the harem is proactively forming secret alliances to backstab each other and being disappointed that he didn't show up in his sentai cosplay. Now that's a sentence that would make a compelling premise/title.

None of which is to say that this has become good. Or animated. Or well written. Or has figured out what actual fanservice is. But I'd still take a hundred of these over "dude screams because his power level is +999999". At least when it's throwing everything at the wall like this episode. I do recall it getting bogged down in godawful tournament arcs, and wouldn't ya know it, but we're beginning this one with a new tournament, which requires another training arc, so the future does not look bright. Then again, looking at the rest of the season, an occasional glimmer of unadulterated nonsense may be the best it's going to get.
