This was another two episode premiere, though don't expect follow up. Also, taking my final break before the last stretch. Just I think one more cheat power and Suikoden's double billing to go. …I think.

Impressions:

You know what Duel Savior and Bunny Black were definitely missing? A ten minute tutorial introducing the concepts of JRPG cliches, to be followed by a statement of what porn games are, and the cliches within them. That definitely would've improved those games. Tack on a montage where his number and stat screen goes to over 9000 and bang. Instant classic. But wait, we also need to introduce and explain the heroine archetypes. No, hold on. Only time for one this episode. One heroine. One archetype. We can also mix up our genres haphazardly and make the claim that people were upset about a porn game character not being a virgin. Famously things that porn games always avoided because it was the kiss of death, right, Type-Moon? Giga? Elf? Anybody? Yeeeah. This nonsense came quite a bit after the era of the games you're trying to invoke.

If it started two minutes from the end of the episode and was just him struggling with whether or not to defy intended fate… well, it still would've been about a dude with cheat powers in an RPG world saving a girl from being raped, so I can't say that it would've been good, but it would've been better than the other 95% of the episode, which was all tutorials and explaining the concept of porn games. Which, sure, as an industry are dead, because they've been flooded with amateur mass production, so they're not unknown either. Could've saved… I hesitate to say a lot of money since the animation is on the low end of mediocrity, but certainly some money by skipping virtually everything too. And yes, I did glance at the second episode. The maid is completely fine. The sucking hole in her stomach was just a flesh wound. He moves into their dorm, and spends the entire episode alternatively tripping and grabbing underwear and narrating how he's in a game and she as a heroine in that game.
