Impressions:

I don't remember the first episode being this obnoxious. I think it's because so much more of the focus was on this idiot. And that they were relying less on dramatics and more on humor and tedious exposition, as if I haven't suffered enough through that this season. And since this very desperately wants to be a Jump thing, that means overreacting. Loudly. Frequently. With extremely distorted faces. And did I mention loudly? The first five minutes are just a parade of him going "AAAAAGH!?" over and over. And the exposition? He pays no attention to any of it, so his response to all of it is to yell about that girl and announce "I WASN'T PAYING ATTENTION TO THAT!"

Meanwhile, we get a few new characters; mainly this ridiculous level 1 half naked catboy who has all the patience in the world to explain how evil he is, how much he loves to torment and traumatize people, but also, would you like to join his treehouse? There's two other 'friend' dudes too, who are also there just to deliver more exposition, and the second is especially godawful, because it comes with the typical isekai grading pyramid crap. Seriously, anime. What is it with you and pyramid charts lately? Is this supposed to be an entry point into an MLM scam? Because we can't just be a magic world with magic people. There are graded leagues and a governing body that certifies and awards points based on– Are we serious? Really? Really? And we have to explain the concept of grades and rankings? What are we doing with our lives here?
