Hasta Luego, Lara #10 — Blood for the Blood Fish

September 6th, 2026

Your entire kingdom rested on a teenage girl's emotional stability and blood sacrifices?

Impressions:

Boy, that escalated. I'm sure Lara was thrilled when her dad woke up as an invalid. Hooray! Another excuse to do absolutely nothing and spend another week, in show and out, puttering around, doing absolutely nothing. And what does he do? After about fifteen minutes, he declares that because her love was 'tainted,' it turned into an all-consuming monster that demands the blood sacrifice of the soul who wronged her, and her mission is to feed it as many blood sacrifices as it wants. I'm gonna go ahead and say no to that, my guy? If your kingdom relies on a teenage girl's relationships and can only be soothed by murdering everybody who she feels has wronged her, your society probably should stay extinct.

And of course, nobody calls this out as the nonsensical psychopathic nonsense that it is. Luca will just accept her love, having seen the error of her ways and purify it or something asinine like that. Or Mari. Whichever. Does it even matter? Even Disney wouldn't be this oblivious, but they also wouldn't write themselves into this corner either. My favorite part was her sister's rambling incoherent nonsense about the witch's power or how things worked, only for all of it to be completely wrong. In the same episode. What are we even doing with this character? Is she here to just be racist? More racist than the other two racist characters, or the death fish that just wants to eat Dutch people?
