The Elusive Samurai #15 — Excessively High T
July 31st, 2026
Time to restore the internet filter, CloverWorks.
Impressions:
Once again, the story of this show is more about what on Earth is going on with Cloverworks more than the episode itself. And it's just like a five minute span where it feels like they handed over the direction to a teenager poisoned by the manosphere given the number of internet references in that portion of the episode and nowhere else. I'm honestly not sure if they're trying to do a parody about Andrew Tate-like nonsense idiocy over testasterone, or if it's meant to be a 'legitimate' educational break with the break itself being the joke. Did they have two extra minutes to fill and someone said "use this informercial we saw while watching Japanese Alex Jones?" Or are they so enamored of the 30 year old virgin gag that they wanted to stretch it out even further?
In any case, it's about 95% a setup episode for another battle, but it's basically the same setup as the last time. Meet and greet some new dudes, but also the old dudes from the last time we did this. Each one has their gimmick; one has falcon radar, one is… a virgin, and we don't reach the third because we've done too much setup. And then we're off to fight the same comic relief dudes that we've been embarrassing for the last six episodes. But no new antagonists either. Just going to try to gas up the old ones again, as futile as that is. Even then, all they do is murder some prisoners. Did they not do that before? Is this even an escalation?
