The Invincible Academy’s Failed Sage – The Story of a Twice Reincarnated S Rank Mage Adventurer with Cheat Powers #01 — Ow, My Title

June 25th, 2026

We cannot have nice things this season.

Impressions:

Don't worry, there's only like 10 more cheat power RPGs to go this season, and 12 more reincarnations. Those lists have depressingly little overlap. Anyway, the way this mixes up the formula is that he forgot that he was reincarnated and had a cheat power, become the bestest ever, THEN took the magical scouting test and found out it says he had no powers, died, re-reincarnated with even more cheat powers on top of the ones he already had. And if you were thinking it couldn't get worse, his post re-reincarnation harem includes the children he was raising from his original reincarnation. Fantastic.

I can't say it indulges in all the worst tendencies of its ilk, as nobody's a slave wife yet, nor is it a revenge fantasy about saving/committing sexual assaults all over the place with gratuitous violence and status screen popups nonstop. It does shove its head neck deep into the most boring and brain-numbing of pointless exposition about how four elements exist and explaining the concept of them. Why? Costs nothing to animate. Already spent the tiny budget on that opening scene of… some lightning and beams. Also to tell you what elements are. Something very confusing for people who have never seen an RPG before, but know about having named special skills, experience, levels, and status effects. Who exactly is this cross-section of the audience? It's dumb and like every other one of these stupid-ass thing in any case.
