Ghost Concert #12 — Generative AI and Copyright Law
June 21st, 2026
…This is where we end things on?
Impressions:
I like how this began with slapping a date up on screen. This means absolutely nothing to me. I legitimately could not tell you if this means it takes place a month or two later, far in the future, or as it turns out, in the past. Because this episode is Seria's backstory of being a possessed child that drove her parents insane with being possessed and repeatedly trying to run into traffic or jump off balconies. Then they downloaded MiucS, used it to genAI up a song based on her cursed nonsense, which it turns out literally EVERYBODY was doing, and EVERYBODY simultaneously sold all their copyrights to MiucS simultaneously which is how it took over all music everywhere. So they became rebel street performers, were arrested by the music police, and sent to jail, which is why she was orphaned.
So now that music is legal again, they're set free, go to her concert, where she's an international superstar, performing with all her ghost friends, including the priest and Riku, because death in this world is like getting on the subway, and also, the entire world knows about pop concerts starring historical figures. And, uh, that's it. Apparently her parents, never before mentioned, were actually super important to her? Didn't she have a pair of friends in the first episode? Sure, this all makes perfect sense and was not a completely insane fever dream.
