Loser Ranger #15 — Lightsaber vs Math

…That seemed better in your head, didn't it?
Impressions:
I can't say I'm really enjoying this school arc. I think it's both the lack of stuff happening and how small the cast has suddenly become. I remember the action animation being a bit better in the first season too. It also feels like a bunch of things which should be foreshadowing aren't quite being hinted at so much as plopped out with the subtlety of an anvil. Like the principal not being a monster. He's clearly vulnerable to… everything, the other dude explicitly announces not everybody is brainwashed, and the monster shows up dressed like a student. And yet, I'm pretty sure that's going to be a 'surprise' twist. Same with the punk guy all of a sudden whipping out an entire array of Seven Deadly Sins based super gadgets. As if the OP didn't make it clear enough he was part of Team Superhero, that removes all doubt, but that shocking development will come… eventually?
And the rest… well, there's just not a lot going on. I'm fine with the schlocky CW kind of dramas that I feel like the first season invoked, but when nobody's getting stabbed, eaten, betraying, being betrayed, etc, all that fades into… well, just boring standard shounen to be honest. Where people stand around for twenty minutes expositing to each other and clenching their fists in frustration. Which with the fight scenes collapsing into gag stills is murdering the pacing even more than the random flashbacks already are.
