Boy, this laser sure got impotent quick.

Impressions:

Be careful what you wish for. We mostly drop the whole stupid training test thing to focus on the actual supposedly dangerous monster rampaging around, and get mostly blue balled. Didn't it vaporize some girl's head last episode alongside a gratuitous (nonsensical) torture scene of an invincible semi-immortal? Why are we backtracking to PG levels of violence? It grazes one dude with a laser at the start, and that's it. After that, it just floats and shoots a laser which everybody walks away from or blocks, while being defeated with as much effort as it takes to down a Dynasty Warrior grunt. This is not how you do a satisfying fight that elevates all combatants, least of all with the announcement that no mercy will be had, this is a desperate situation, etc, but first, a monologue. And after that? Another monologue. Shut up and fight already. At least evaporate the stupid girl constantly begging to be bathed in the light of glory. 

And then there's D's backwards epiphany. He stabs the monster in the back, literally, and then is knocked out by… diving to the floor, at which point he has an overly long comedic dream conquering the world without killing this dude first would mean a bit more violence than he wants, thereby teaching him the power of friendship. Okay, more like the power of being able to wave his dick in front of people he knows, but basically the same thing here. Thus he learns that he should have done what he already did for no real reason at the time, and so… you guessed it, it's time for another monologue before we end the episode with a whole dramatic pose of him and all the nobodies in a meaningless fight against just one of an endless wave of clones. Can you say hyped or what?
