Impressions:

It's so weird to try to be making Ciel an antagonist. Kanata won't abandon his friends, family, and home to this unstoppable monster swarm, that had been stopped previously, and run off with her, that just proves her priors about humans only seeing maguses as things and not bangable. But she wimps out anyway, so we're stretching this out yet further. Never mind that Kanata is denser than osmium. It must be the racism in this system of slaves and masters. I'm not even sure what they're going for here, but they're doing it slowly and annoyingly. At least she didn't have another idol sequence though.

Nor does it help that this super dangerous swarm has been extremely toothless on screen and dispatched by the hundreds with little effort. Even Megaton Musashi was less PG than this show. I'm fairly certain that there's been more triumphant music scenes dispatching them than there have scenes of them actually fighting back in any way, let alone actually menacing anybody, but we're going to keep having them take a slightly new form and glow/throb menacingly, I guess.
