Impressions:

One of the strengths of being episodic is that it's easier to shrug off one particularly dumb/bad episode, although maybe that's being too harsh on this, or maybe not harsh enough since apparently this is a two parter for some reason. Its greatest sins are definitely the creepy character design and the whole stepdaughter fetishism. It wastes no time in going from mostly naked to entirely naked and in the bath. It's not a great introduction to her or her schtick, and the ending also got pretty awkward. It definitely doesn't have the animation budget for a big fight.

It did broadly speaking have its heart in the right place in having Red yell at Blade for getting angsty over not letting help them, but at the same time, he hadn't really tried anything at all yet. I've tried nothing, and I'm all out of ideas. For that matter, why is it going unnoticed that she knows more about and is closer to more people than him? That seems like something he should be depressed about in regards to his own struggles more than taking care of this random brat with special dragon-brat rules. I can't help but think that it would've worked better had he actually done something stupid to try to help, which set the stupid dragon off, and then we get the speech, with them banding together to stop its tantrum, and only after that, giving the explanation that them beating it together counts as the win condition. Whatever comes next week already seems like it's going to be massively disappointing on every level, but maybe it'll surprise me.
