The Marginal Service #11 — The Grand Conspiracy Theory Dump

June 20th, 2023

I guess at least it's trying to come up with an ending.

I know the next season starts in like 4 days with one idol-reincarnation show, but it's unlikely I'll be finished with the season preview before then. I've been slacking and was soft planning on next Wednesday, but who knows. All the tedious link gathering parts are done, but now I have to actually read and watch things, as well as attempt to be witty and fail. That's the real grind.

Impressions:

Well, this episode went to complete nonsense pretty fast. The one Matrix dude apparently lived on in a USB drive, which raises some real questions about storage capacity… or I guess the size of an entire human mind. Meanwhile, they unceremoniously uncover a massive conspiracy of human governments which are framing Rubber for… terrorism, I guess? For calling monster marijuana extra deadly? And when they find that out, the government tasks them to bring the dude in just to be extra dramatic. But they'll come along anyway just to check things out. Uh, okay. That's certainly a plan.

At this point, only half the episode is done, and we still haven't even gotten to the true conspiracy, that everything, from the kidnapping of kids to framing cryptids was because the Illuminati was to use psychic kids to power alien technology. Oh, right. There are psychic kids apparently. And alien technology. What does it do? Who knows! Why? Becase they're the Illuminati, obviously. There's around three straight minutes just listening to Rubber explain the entire conspiracy as they invade the top secret base. The one that the government prizes above all else, which is totally unguarded and completely empty. Riiiight. Between this and the Monday nonsense, I guess I prefer it all being dumped in one scene instead of over an entire month, but neither is anything approaching good.
