Tomo’s a Girl! #01 — TOMO IS A GIRL

At least they didn't spend much animating the yelling.

Impressions:

I believe I've made my opinion on 'comedies' where every joke is someone suddenly screaming pretty clear. Here we have a 4-panel adaptation where every punchline is somebody screaming. Which works out to a show where every thirty seconds or so, somebody screams at the top of their lungs in an attempt at comical overreaction. It is… exhausting. The few punchlines that were just someone making a stupid face in shock, but in silence, were a welcome relief, but there were about as many of those as there were bits where the punchline was just someone going 'BLAAAAAAAGH' like a goddamn rabbid or minion.

So, yes, I'd find it accurate to say that I probably enjoyed Technoroid more as a comedy than I did this, an actual comedy. It's just spontaneously yelling, generally some variation of the title, though the very first joke was the title. Yelling and obvious misunderstanding. The mean girls are being pushy, they must want a fight! Oh, they actually have a crush on the guy they're stalking. Better loudly yell out the explanation for both those things. That's not just a summary for the second half of the episode, it's also all the jokes in it. This is not an ambitious show, in humor, characters, nor story. Lord knows my opinion would probably be better if it too had ended with someone being thrown into a vat of molten steel.

I love chainsaw man to bits and thoroughly enjoyed the manga with no negative thoughts but couldn’t get into the anime at all. i liked this manga but i can’t go past ep 1. i was annoyed for some reason. think the voices rubbed me the wrong way or consuming 20 mins of it in one go. also someone needs to contact women’s aid to save jun from himself being around Misuzu.

The thing I’m most interested in this show is the one voice actor who will be performing her character in English and Japanese.
