The Witch From Mercury #05 — Bringing an Axe to a Dog Fight
October 30th, 2022
This dude is the designated jobber at this point.
Impressions:
A pretty dull episode as far as I'm concerned. This dude can pilot Gundams too, but instead of being ignorant about his past, is super angsty over it, and makes all manner of nonsensical declarations. "The only way to beat a Gundam is a Gundam," he declares melodramatically as if pedestrian cheating hadn't completely crippled a Gundam in every other fight thus far. "I challenge you, and the stakes you must put up is someone else has to obey me if you lose." Uh, excuse me. So by these rules, you could challenge the janitor to a duel and he has to bet having the king of space thrown out the airlock? The brain can only be turned off so much, on top of the one shouty pretty boy just flat out jobbing to everybody now. How many more of these is he going to go through exactly?
And that's really it for the episode. The so-called protagonists spend the whole thing wondering why they're doing anything that they're doing. Me too, Suletta. This is probably something that you shouldn't be calling attention to. Why ARE you doing whatever anybody tells you, no questions asked? But sure, go ahead and sit on the sideline and gawk at all the others when a dude loses a fight against weird state of the art technology he's never seen before in a massively disadvantaged fight against an aerial enemy when he's equipped with nothing but an axe. An axe. Who thought that was a good idea?
