Tokyo’s 24th Ward #09 — “THIS IS ME, NOW!”

March 9th, 2022

Oh boy. A flashback episode.

Impressions:

You know how I love flashbacks. Especially ones that advance nothing and reveal nothing. All the adults knew each other and were connected through technology failing and trying to murder people. I like to imagine the conversation that came before the start of this episode.
Woman: "This is a very important business meeting. Are you going to wear the c–"
Dude: "YES, I AM WEARING THE COWBOY OUTFIT. THIS IS WHO I AM, KANAE. WHY CAN'T YOU ACCEPT ME!?"

And then after brain trauma, he becomes a grafitti artist and insists on being called 0th. IT'S NOT A PHASE. THIS IS ME!

Meanwhile, because their self-driving car was apparently going 40 MPH down a packed city street and that was unsafe in some way, she decides that what they need is NOT a speedlimit for residential zones, but more intrusive and ubiquitous social engineering. Yeah, my reaction there would definitely be "What we need is more technology. Especially if it's phallic!" It will also come as no surprise that she was then fridged by a random insane stabber who was just wandering around with a knife. While trying to direct them to the food bank, no less. When we fridge a girl in this show, we really fridge 'em.
