World’s Greatest Ass #12 — Dick Waving Contest

December 22nd, 2021

Still waiting for that first assassination.

Impressions:

The really incredible part of this episode isn't how it immediately discards all pretenses about pretending to fake the brat's death or even try to go through some kind of plot in any way whatsoever. It's that it pulls some random dude out of nowhere, completely whole cloth, and then it spends half the episode on him literally just standing there as it tries to talk up what kind of tremendous invincible badass he is. He attacks once. It makes a big explosion. The finishing attack some ten minutes later? Both of them attack simultaneously, causing a big explosion again, but this time, it kills that guy. That is the big climactic battle that the show wants to go out on. Dudes waving their dicks for no actual reason for ten minutes and then a single random explosion.

I've spent a lot of breath on what this show could have been, and I would have loved it had it even once every three episodes been the kind of heisty vigilante thing promised in the first eight minutes, but it had zero intention of that. Instead, we got all origin, no story. Not a single character got any kind of development or arc. There was no assassination whatsoever. There was no plot or story whatsoever.

its kind of stupid I guess and it might have been anticlimactic but I was expecting him to use some “assassin/ninja” move. like maybe he poisoned the guy somehow at the very start, maybe put it on the spear and transferred it when the guy touched it or maybe they blue haired girl would deliver info about fake heroes familly being saved/in their hands so Assasin could have leavre/tell the fake heroe the leavre on him has been removed. I don’t know something other then “I threw a rocket into space and precisely calculated how to throw it and how soon it would land, I practiced it so it makes sense, good thing you did not move from the spot”
