Impressions:

It's fitting that the series ends with an episode where the self-centered sociopath is surrounded by clones of herself all waiting on her hand and foot. Not kidding. They immediately literally put her on a throne. It's also fitting that it takes half of the episode to explain that there are a bunch of clones of her, each with some gimmick. And it's absolutely on point that it turns out that it was all just a dream. Who doesn't love it when nothing actually happened, nothing meant anything, and nobody learned anything from it? You also have to love the incredibly bizarre attempt at a cliffhanger. "By the way, I also bumped into some random person, and you'll never believe what happened next!" Elaina, you started the purge, helped murder multiple entire kingdoms, and have been an apologist for slavery and abuse. You may be correct that I won't believe what happened next, but for all the wrong reasons.

But at least they finished things off by putting a tiny bit of effort into the action once again. Got to find some crumbs of something to positive to say since it ended on one of the banal, plodding sociopath episodes instead of one of the horrifying psychopath episodes. Guess that means it's time to get started on the next season preview, featuring all the sequels in the goddamned world.

    I refuse to believe it was all just a dream. The country spat her out in the middle of nowhere and made her think it was dream. That has to be it. I also love how the new girl is literally named Amnesia. I wonder what her gimmick is? Inevitable season 2 when?

    Here an explanation of this episode according to the chapter of the novel which is adapted this would have been the perfect way to clear it all up

    The story in the LN:
    – At first, just like the anime, Elaina enters the city who can grant wishes. Elaina immediately thought that she wanted to be rich.
    – After entering Elaina realized that the city contained all the places she had visited so far
    – Then Elaina met High Strung Elaina and she said Elaina was cosplaying herself
    – Elaina initially didn’t believe it was another Elaina, she asked High Strung Elaina to mention all the places she had visited so far in her notes because only Elaina had seen her notes. It turns out the same with a little difference.
    – After they both walk in town, they meet a Devil who looks like an adult Elaina who has horns and wings.
    – The devil said that she created this place for the travelers and she looked inside Elaina’s head to make this place.
    – Elaina said that she made a wish to become a richwoman instead of seeing the memory of the places she visited.
    – Devil Elaina said that she grants everyone’s deepest wishes. The devil said that you can enjoy this place for 3 days.
    – The rest is the same as in the anime, they meet the rest of Elaina at Mirarose’s residence and explain why they hid from Violent Elaina and call Elaina as Main Character(MC) Elaina.
    – After that it happened just like in the anime, they fought Violent Elaina
    – So here the part starts to be different from anime. MC Elaina asked Violent Elaina why her hair was short. She said she didn’t have enough energy to grow hair back at that time.(Because Estelle drained her magic energy)
    – Then Violent Elaina asked MC Elaina if she ever went to the city of Rostolf? (The city where Estelle killed Selena)
    – MC Elaina replied that she’s been there and it’s a good city. Then MC Elaina remembered what happened in that city. She watches a drama play about Estelle, who becomes an evildoers hater after her best friend was murdered 10 years ago.
    – MC Elaina was confused about what was wrong with that. Violent Elaina then tells about what she experienced in that city (Episode 9). MC Elaina said she had never experienced that and did not time travel to the past. (The anime changes this scene, in the anime Elaina seems to pretend she doesn’t know, in the LN she really doesn’t know)
    – The rest is the same as the anime where Violent Elaina explains why she is angry and after that they fight again.
    – Then they made up and Violent Elaina asked “Would you like to hear the story about me going to 10 years in the past?” And MC Elaina answered “yhat was the reason she was here.” (This was changed in the anime, in the anime MC Elaina was the one who asked Violent Elaina, this makes no sense because MC Elaina never did time travel in Rostolf)
    – The rest is the same as in anime but in the LN they don’t sleep together or anything. They just listened to other Elainas’ stories and they made Majo no Tabitabi book.
    – This is the part that’s starting to be different from the anime. MC Elaina then forced all Elaina’s to leave the city immediately. And finally Elaina was alone in the city.
    – Elaina then called Devil Elaina by shouting “I’m alone now!”
    – They continued to chat for a while and MC Elaina later found out the true identity of that devil.
    – These devils are creatures that enter people’s dreams and create an ideal world for them to lock them up there for 3 days and eat their lives after 3 days have passed.
    – This is the reason why MC Elaina kicked all Elaina out of town before 3 days.
    Devil Elaina said that all Elainas who came here were not your imagination, ALL ELAINA was GENUINE/REAL. (From another timeline). So MC Elaina is the result of changes made by Violent Elaina because Estelle killed Selena which caused MC Elaina to never help Estelle in new timeline
    – And finally MC Elaina woke up and found 2 books beside her, her diary and the other one was a book called “Majo no Tabitabi” which she made with all Elainas

    that almost every Elaina was in reference to past chapters which the anime skipped over.

    Note: This is not the first time this Devil has appeared. Her story first appeared in Chapter 2 Volume 3 where she made all the citizens of the city dream and eat their lives after 3 days, only 1 person in the city survived and told Elaina about it. The devil will resemble the appearance of the person she possessed. That’s why Elaina can know her identity.
