Our Last Crusade #12 — Random Monster Spawn

December 23rd, 2020

When one random monster isn't random enough to be the last boss.

Impressions:

I felt like making a sarcastic comment about how the ending of this surprised me by ending at all, because I try not to think about it, but it didn't even manage that. This is just a copy paste of the ending of every other arc (to use the term loosely) that the show has thrown up. A random monster appears, all the antagonists wander off, both protagonists pop up together and go "our strength together!" and the monster wanders off. It doesn't even have the dignity to go for a big romantic kiss. Hell, it doesn't even have the dignity to go for any kind of emotional or motivational speech to cap things off. They just glow with magic power again, and the monster falls over. Then they blush and look away from each other, and if that wasn't enough for you, there's a coda where they… blush and look away from each other again. Relish in your crumbs, peasant, for this is your bounty after suffering 12 episodes of this.

Anyway, watching this was clearly a mistake. Anything that makes me look back more fondly on shows like Campione, Unbreakable Machine Doll, or hell, even Absolute Duo is going to fall into that category. I don't even remember a damn thing about Absolute Duo except that there was one episode where a girl literally stabbed herself in the face by deep throating a kebab. Which is more than I'll remember this for. Rot in obscurity, you boring, poorly animated, unambitious schlock.

Season preview is done except for the spriting. I'm aiming for the 26th, but it's a busy time of year, even locked down in a house with someone else's screaming infants.

I guess the real crusade was the friends we made along the way

I dont know why you picked this either, it is a poorly animated Kirito and Juliet.
