If you're wondering about that Writers and Alchemists show, all you really need to know is that the first 15 minutes of the second episode was spent sitting around, sipping tea, and having a big ol' info dump.
Impressions:
I'm not particularly enamored of this either. It's not making much of an effort to sell either the comedy side nor working in radio. It spends a couple long asides going on about how she's so great because she's grating and rambles without stuttering, then it comes time for her to finally do the radio thing, and they throw it into the background, so we end up with two undirected rambling rants going on in both the foreground and the background. Maybe it's an attempt to overwhelm the audience and confuse them into… I'm not sure what, but all I got from it was a lot of noise that left no real impression except making a lot of noise.
A particularly weird moment was the commercial interstitial which declared 21 days until she was fired, then we pop up to her supposed first day in radio and the guy goes "Welp, it's been 20 days." It has? Did we just skip three weeks, or did we skip three weeks since… uh… some other thing? What other thing? Why are we even bringing any of this up at all if it might as well have been three hours? Then it launches into another rambling bit of nonsense, also seemingly with little purpose or point (which the show itself points out) before dropping it. This is definitely a show that needs a bit more structure ala a traditional sitcom. A start, middle, and end would help. I don't even know what to make of the cliffhanger that closed things out.
