Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs #02 — Balls of Fury

July 21st, 2018

Saturdays… aren't great this season.

So now that I've put the shows trying to use rapey T&A to wring out emotion behind me, does the one that's just brainless fanservice throwback end up any better? Or, hope beyond hope, does it elevate itself by developing a story or its characters? Or perhaps develop the humor beyond pratfalls, screaming, and groping? Show a little wit and heart?

No. A resounding, echoing, deafening no to all of those. Hell, it might have backslided in a lot of respects, especially when it came to the main character, whose role in life is now to either wake up with a crotch in his face and scream about it, or stumble-grope the rest of the cast. The first half was more like a belated introduction bit, complete with a rundown of every single character's gimmick and then them all shouting "Welcome to the show!" at the end of it. The second half, they play ping pong. Everyone did their one gimmick thing, someone flashed their underwear, he tripped and groped them. The end.

3 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

  • Dave Baranyi says:

The manga goes down, down, downhill from here so don’t expect this pos to get any better.

  • Leivinia Birdway says:

    The harem-ecchi is dead.
