That, and announcing the situation as loudly as possible, which is only slightly less annoying than the recorder that never stops playing in the background. Screaming out a recap of the past two minute scene is a well worn staple of Japanese 'comedy' though, so that ain't anything new. I suppose it's cute enough the first time, but after that, there's just doing the same thing with a different prop. It's not snappy about it either, but takes its languid time to milk every second for all its worth. That's a gambit with severely diminishing results, especially as it means being forced to listen to that goddamned recorder more and more. Any points it gets for jumping right in are lost by the nonstop drivel pouring forth from this idiot's thoughts even before he inevitably yells "YOU WIN AGAIN, GADGET."
