Zodiac War #10 — Milking It

December 5th, 2017

Ten minutes of flashback, ten minutes of death scene.

Really? Tiger's big grudge against Ox is that she has a crush on him? It's just a plea for attention after getting a motivational speech about doing the right thing, even if it's sometimes hard. That would consume easily half the episode, until Rabbit's corpse SHOCKINGLY came back to life and got all stabby for approximately five seconds. Not back to life enough to, you know, continue attacking. It had to milk that death, then they ran off to milk it even further. You could've cut out at least five minutes from this episode just by removing all self-declarations about how she was dying.

I kind of want to veer off into the weeds about how they could've done it at least a little better, mostly through her becoming increasingly desperate to have him remember her through their interactions, but I've been doing that way too much with this show. Time they could've spent building up to the big stabbery moment was instead spent on melodramatically testing my patience, giving me mental room to imagine something else entirely. That's not a good thing. I guess at least the music was on point.
